Largest Bull Shark Found in African River

Bull sharks are one of the most fascinating and dangerous sharks. The fact that they can survive in both salt and fresh water makes them a double threat. They have been known to turn up in rivers in the United States. Sightings have been reported in the Mississippi river all the way up to St. Louis. Although more rare, there have been spottings of bull sharks in the Illinois river and Lake Michigan.
Most recently researchers were doing studies on bull sharks in the Breede river in Africa, and ended up discovering the largest bull shark ever documented. This shark measured 6m or 19 ft, and 550 – 600 kg (1212 – 1322 lbs.) The previous record went to a bull shark that was 3.5 m.
